Soroptimist of Borrego Springs' Website

For a long time, Soroptimist International of Borrego Springs' website was a back-burner project. It used unengaging Wordpress themes that did not fully present the inspirational and illuminating vision of the volunteer organization. Since the website was not updated frequently, or visually provocative, the group was losing out on donations and recruiting new members.

I revamped their web presence with a fully customized Wordpress theme using universal design and accessibility principles, tailored for easy navigation for both supporters and potential new members. The design is also aligned with the international brand presence of Soroptimist International.

How did I have impact?

  1. #1: Researched organization brand compliance resources and created branding that reflected Borrego Springs while staying true to logo, palette, and font,

  2. #2: Interviewed club stakeholders and determined website priorities: ease of guiding donations, a friendly presence to recruit more members, and a nominally regular blog for sharing education and updates,

  3. #3: Prototyped and tested a responsively designed site focused on navigational ease and accessibility for an older demographic.

Why This Project Matters to Me

The mission of Soroptimist International, and all its clubs, is close to my heart. This group, and club, is focused on empowering women and girls through educational grants and mentorship. As the oldest service club in Borrego Springs, Ca., they are key to making the community better and brighter for all.
